Jay Sekulow’s Good News

I was just driving around a little while ago and heard Jay Sekulow on the radio talking about Al Qaeda and the death of Usama Bin Laden. He said, “These are evil people, and the good news is that justice has been done.”
Hmmmm…
Is that the good news, Jay? I thought it was something else.

  1. Absolutely it is Good News! Remember, Jesus came to bring justice for the American people. How silly of you to forget about that…

Pro 24:17-18 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles, lest the LORD see it and be displeased, and turn away his anger from him.

  2. Oh yeah… I think I’m starting to remember now…
Let’s see… When he was a baby, His lifepod crashed landed somewhere near the town of Smallville, where He was discovered by Ma and Pa Kent, right?… And then…
(Now we’re getting into the reason for the header at the top of this blog.) 😉

  3. Yeah, exactly!… You know, though, it has been heartening to see the natural response of younger Christians to the death of Bin Laden and the celebration of older folks. It has not entirely been an old/young divide, but that distinction has been noticeable.
I listened to the Sekulow show again the other day. They continued to do their bizarre militant Christianity thing. But they were at least addressing the concern that they were hearing from many who were not appreciative of the triumphalism being trumpeted over Bin Laden’s death. They said they were even going to have a certain “emerging church pastor” (some name I did not recognize) in a later segment of the show to discuss the question of whether it is appropriate for Christians to be glad about the death of someone like Bin Laden. (I didn’t stay in the car long enough to hear that part.)
